Greetings. I am principal at Madison Elementary. I grew up as a little girl, playing school with the neighborhood kids in Torrance, California. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher! I attended school 6 days a week with my Saturdays at Chinese School in Chinatown, Los Angeles. I attended University of California, Santa Barbara, University of Southern California, and California-State University Sacramento. I began teaching 6th grade in McLean, Virginia while my husband attended law school in Washington, DC. Since then, I have had many years teaching pre-school, grades 1-6th, gifted, Title 1, and art in California, Hawaii, and Washington state. In the past ten years, I have been invited to make presentations throughout the country on topics about teacher instruction and student learning.

My son, Jesse works for Washington Mutual in Seattle, and has a dog named Charley. My daughter, Sarah, is finishing school, works at the YMCA, and plays guitar. My husband and I enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, going to movies, listening to jazz, and hiking.
