Greetings. I am principal at Madison Elementary. I grew up as a little girl, playing school with the neighborhood children in Torrance, California. I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher! I attended school 6 days a week with my Saturdays at Chinese School in Chinatown, Los Angeles. I attended University of California, Santa Barbara, University of Southern California, and California-State University Sacramento. I began teaching 6th grade in McLean, Virginia while my husband attended law school in Washington, DC. Since then, I have had many years teaching pre-school, grades 1-6th, gifted, Title 1, and art in California, Hawaii, and Washington state. In the past ten years, I have been invited to make presentations throughout the country on topics about teacher instruction and student learning. 

I have two wonderful grown children, Jesse and Sarah.  Jesse is a computer financial whiz and gets paid for it!  He is married to a wonderful chef, Anne.   Sarah lives on the eastern side of the state helping youth and young adults.  My husband and I enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, going to movies, listening to jazz, and hiking. 

I love being an educator and, at Madison, together "We Succeed with Pride".
